Boys Weekend

This coming weekend, actually starting Thursday afternoon, Liesl is taking Keeley and flying out to visit her friend, Shari, in California. So I've got the boys for several days. We have never gotten this much time together and I am looking forward to it. I've been asking the boys what they'd like to do, but we haven't really come up with anything big, except drink root beer and sit around in our boxers.

I am hoping for a little adventure, though. We do have soccer on saturday, so that's going to break up our time a little. I believe we'll probably watch a few movies, play some catch, stay up late, grow beards. I also hope that we maybe get some time to have some good conversation. I am amazed by what is in the hearts of those two boys. They are both so filled with passions and desires, and a thirst for knowledge. They also just love to be with me, and that is golden. I hope that I can take full advantage of that. If you are reading this, please comment on any ideas of what we can do this weekend. you can post anonymously if you wish.

Thank you for caring about their hearts and wanting to invest in their lives. They are so lucky to have you for a Dad!

Here are things to add to your list:
1 - Eat veggies
2 - Brush Teeth!

I like the growing beards idea. Good luck with that...

Liesl also has some great suggestions. I recommend those, as well. Well, maybe only a few veggies - with lots of ranch dip.

You could, of course, go dig a hole in the back yard, or start building a tree house. You could do both of those things IN your boxers while taking frequent root beer breaks!

Where's the Guinness? Here are some rules for a guy weekend (I know you know this, I just want to remind you:)
1. There will be baseball.
2. There will be fire or power tools.
3. There will be blood at some point.
4. There will be shells-n-cheese with charred hotdogs diced and mixed in.
5. There will be one or two genuine moments of illustrating God's deep love. Be creative.
(4) I would say there will be Guiness but we'll give them a year or two.

Enjoy it.
