Play Room Almost Done
If it weren't for my procrastination, we'd be starting the decorating process in the play/guest room. It is now painted, carpeted and has furniture in it. But I have yet to change out the few outlets that are the old tan color for the white ones we bought. The kids are loving having another room to go into while they are running around the house. Before we put furniture in there, it was also used as a handball/soccer room. Keeley loves the soft carpet. She doesn't much like to be held by her big brother...
Easter Extended
The Easter story is a great one with Jesus rising from the dead to redeem his people. But sometimes it is hard for me to really grasp the beauty and perfection of it all. I think that God tells me that same story in other ways to point me back to Jesus.
First, Bryce and Rece are in a home school tutorial, where they get together for a few hours each week and get taught some stuff with other kids that are home schooled. They had a science project of bringing home a caterpillar and watching it make it's cocoon and then become a butterfly. It has been kind of a long process, but they both yielded beautiful butterflies this past week.

They boys were so excited. We released them both to the wild but had to get a picture first. We also grilled for the first time this year. I know, you're probably thinking how does that tie into Easter? It reminds me that spring is here after being cold and rainy, there is life again all around. We enjoyed several different kinds of food, this is only about 1/3 of it.
We had our friends, Brad and Rachel over with their girls. Another picture of redemption for us, as their marriage is one of two tragic stories coming together to make something new and full of life again. We also had all the kids enjoy a little wrestling match against me, it's amazing to me that I can be a dad and someone that is fun and has a little bit of a child-like heart. Yes, that's me on the bottom.

Play Room almost done
The play room is almost done. The carpet folks come tomorrow and then we start moving furniture in. The walls are painted, the doors are painted. I need to put some outlet covers on. Liesl is very excited. I think the kids are excited too. I think we are going to get a gate so that Keeley cannot get in so the boys can play with their legos in there. We also are going to be having some visitors come and they will stay in there. Oh yeah, we need some blinds too. Then comes the decorating part. I think we've decided which furniture to put in, but we are going to make it a sports theme, so we need to gather up some sports related items and get them framed. You can bet you'll see something with a Jayhawk on it.

Boys, Beer, 'Bama and Blood
The boys insisted on sleeping in the living room, I chose to sleep in my comfy bed. Up early the next morning, we decided to make the trek to the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama home of Space Camp, to go to the museum. They have a great collection of rockets including a real Saturn IV, missiles, some rides, a Mars terrain climbing wall, and a real space shuttle.

On the way home, as the boys were enjoying another refreshing root beer, Bryce stuck his finger in his empty root beer can, and sliced it open as he pulled it out. Yikes!
As we sped up route 65 to try to get to the doctor, we were able to stop the bleeding. We made it to the doctor as they were closing the door, only to find out that it was not deep enough for stitches. So overall, it was an adventurous day.

Boys Weekend
This coming weekend, actually starting Thursday afternoon, Liesl is taking Keeley and flying out to visit her friend, Shari, in California. So I've got the boys for several days. We have never gotten this much time together and I am looking forward to it. I've been asking the boys what they'd like to do, but we haven't really come up with anything big, except drink root beer and sit around in our boxers.

I am hoping for a little adventure, though. We do have soccer on saturday, so that's going to break up our time a little. I believe we'll probably watch a few movies, play some catch, stay up late, grow beards. I also hope that we maybe get some time to have some good conversation. I am amazed by what is in the hearts of those two boys. They are both so filled with passions and desires, and a thirst for knowledge. They also just love to be with me, and that is golden. I hope that I can take full advantage of that. If you are reading this, please comment on any ideas of what we can do this weekend. you can post anonymously if you wish.

New Room
We are having a new room being built into the back part of the garage. It will be a play room/ guest room. Our garage was built with a section on the back that is the same height as the rest of the house. It is basically slated for a room. It even has a window. Since we have a small house and 3 crazy kids that run around everywhere, Liesl needed another room. It's kind of exciting to be able to pick what kinds of things we actually put in it. I picked out a ceiling fan with a light. we actually have outlets where we need them. We'll eventually pick out carpet and paint. For some reason, I only have one picture of this so far... It is kind of funny, it is a picture of the doorway out to the garage, but the hole for the door is only halfway cut.
We now have both doors on, the door that was out to the garage has been moved to still be out to the garage and we got a new door from the kitchen area into the playroom, which I am guessing will be open most of the time. We have also decided that we are going to give the room a Sports type theme. I have several things I can hang on the wall to make it look "sporty". But you'll have to wait for pictures after it's all done. I don't think we are going to put field turf in, but that would be really awesome.

Camera
Yes, Liesl found the camera. Very good news. Apparently there was even a team of people praying over the lost camera. However. It is a little disturbing as to where we found it. After missing it for several weeks, It was right under our noses. We have a bin with bills and mail and miscellaneous items in the kitchen. And Yes, it was in the bin. First of all how could we have not looked there. Well, I thought I looked in there. the disturbing part though, I guess is that that bin must be really full of stuff not to see the camera in there. It's not a big camera, but it was in it's camera bag... What other stuff is in that bin? Is anyone else missing anything? I'm missing a sock, perhaps I should look there. Hopefully I'll start posting pictures of some of the things I'm posting about.
